Out Patient Services:
Registration
- When you make your first visit to the hospital for treatment, you need to register. You will be issued one unique registration number and a hospital record file. During your visits the file will be forwarded to the treating doctor and later maintained in the MRD.
Appointment
- Our appointment desk is operated 24/7.
- Check in at the reception for meeting the concerned doctor.
- Try to arrive 10 minutes before appointment so that we can complete the formalities to meet the time.
- Late arrival for appointment will be considered as walk-in and waiting time may increase considerably.
- In certain circumstances, the appointments may be rescheduled which will be informed to the patient in advance.
- We would request your kind cooperation, if the appointment with the doctor is delayed, as the doctor may be engaged in attending any emergency case, however, we will accommodate your consultation.
- If appointment is to be cancelled, call our appointment desk in advance. This will help us provide service to other patients.
Insurance/Corporate Procedure
- Kindly carry your Insurance card upon every visit to the hospital. In order to avail direct billing facilities, show the valid insurance card at the Registration Counter. In case you do not have the Insurance card physically with you during your visit due to any technical reason, we require a written confirmation from insurance company about your coverage in the hospital. Your patience till we receive the confirmation is highly appreciated.
- Direct billing service is available only for those insurance companies with which Hospital has tie up. The direct billing is subject to inclusions and exclusions. Please, you’re your policy for coverage or check with your insurance provider for further details.
- Certain services/treatments require prior verbal or written approval, in case which your patience and cooperation are highly appreciated to get through the formalities.
Laboratory
A well-designed & organized department with state-of-the-art equipments and a team of highly competent pathologist and technologists. The department provides quality services of global standards thus follow strict Quality control procedures. Lab Information System linked to Hospital Information System.
Services Offered:
•Histopathology, Cytology, Clinical Pathology, Hematology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Virology etc. are present. All major areas are fully automated.
•Round the clock services for Laboratory Investigations and Blood Storage Facility (whole blood and components) for inpatients.
•All kinds of routine test are done at the Aster Hospital Lab; where as specialized investigations are done at our Sister concern Aster Diagnostics.
Radiology
The Radiology Department offers state-of-the-art Gynecological, Obstetric and General Ultrasound Imaging facilities by a female radiologist. It includes 3D/4D scans with special emphasis on imaging of the fetus and detection of congenital abnormalities prior to birth. Additionally, basic conventional radiology facilities are also available.
Pharmacy
Pharmacy is open from 8 am to 12 midnight.
In-Patient Services:
Admission
- For elective cases, the doctor will post the case for a day in consultation with the patient. Report at the reception for admission.
- The emergency cases shall be attended to immediately. Report at the reception during emergency visit.
- The patient/bystander is required to fill up and sign the necessary forms for admission.
- For maternity cases, copies of passport and marriage certificate are to be submitted.
- If you are insured, show your valid card at the reception during admission formalities.
- Our Patient Relations Executives will explain and assist the admission policies and procedures and then you will be escorted to the allocated room.
- Room types can be chosen depending on availability.
- You are required to make deposit at the cash counter.
- You may enquire the cost estimate prior to admission in order to avoid financial misinterpretation. This will be an approximate estimate of cost and the final cost may vary from the estimated cost, depending on service/treatment.
- The hospital provides meals for the patient. All inpatients get special diet depending on their health status.
Day Care
The Day Care Unit manages patients who require an admission less than 12 hours/do not require overnight admission to the hospital. The unit has generated a lot of interest, both among doctors and the patients. The aim of the concept is decompression of busy hospital beds and to reduce cost of medical care.

Insurance Formalities
- Elective cases: It is important to obtain prior approval for elective cases. Upon your consultation with the treating doctor, your case will be intimated to the concerned insurance company and the status will be reported to you by the insurance coordinators.
- Emergency cases: For emergency cases, the hospital shall seek verbal approval from the insurance company and has to complete formalities for written approval within 24 hours.
Pharmacy
- Pharmacy is open from 8 am to 12 midnight. The medications required for in-patients during night will be provided from the sub-stores and credited to patient account. The hospital pharmacy will dispense any medications you need to take home prior to your discharge from the hospital.
Discharge
Various departments provide you the treatment services during your stay. After the treating doctor confirms that patient is fit for discharge, all such departments work to process your discharge. This normally takes 2-3 hours and your cooperation is appreciated to help us complete the formalities.
Visitor's Guide:
Visitors are welcome to come and see the inpatient. The visitors are recommended to make visit to patients during the specified time for visit. This is in respect to the patients’ rights/wishes and their health conditions. Special arrangements can be made for visit, subject to hospital management’s discretion,-refer to Manager-Operations/Head/Patient Relations Officer/in-charge Nurse.
• Children must be supervised at all times while in the hospital.
• Visiting Hours:
10 am – 1 pm & 4.30 pm – 8.30 pm
Fri: 8 am – 1 pm & 4 pm – 8 pm
Patient Rights & Responsibilities
Health matters to you and us...You are entitled to anticipate and receive high quality care and treatment at Aster hospital. With the professional team of healthcare management, you can get the best results for your health. The teams that monitor and manage your healthcare include doctors, nurses and allied health staff that look after you upon your visit and during the hospital stay. The hospital has a Patient Relations Officer whom you may contact should you have a concern, problem or query about the care you receive or your hospital stay. This charter educates you about your rights and responsibilities in terms of treatment and other relevant formalities.
Your Rights:
- To be treated to the best, being considerate and respectful of you. The hospital has to be “feel safe”, clean and comfortable.
- To receive individualized care without discrimination as to your race, religion, nationality, color, gender, age, and physical or mental stability.
- To obtain privacy in consultation, investigations and examinations and medical procedures.
- To be protected from verbal, physical, mental and sexual abuse and/or assault.
- To choose your treating doctor.
- To raise any concerns with hospital staff, and to request assistance from the Patient Relations Officer at the hospital.
- You have the right to be told by your doctor about your diagnosis and possible prognosis, the benefits and risks of treatment, and expected outcome of treatment, including unanticipated outcomes. You have the right to give written informed consent before any non-emergency procedure begins.
- To be fully involved in deciding how and when you leave hospital. Before you are discharged, decisions will need to be made about your ongoing needs and follow up for the same.
- To discharge yourself against your doctor's advice, however, you may be asked to sign a form accepting responsibility for your decision.
- If you are unsure about your treatment, you are entitled to obtain a second opinion from another qualified health professional.
- To access the medical reports, investigation reports and discharge summary for the treatment.
- To have all your health/treatment information confidential in accordance with the Federal applicable laws.
Your Responsibilities:
- To provide relevant information about your health and circumstances that may influence your treatment, recovery or stay in hospital. Your treating team can only provide the most appropriate care if they know all the relevant information about your health and circumstances.
- To extend best participation in making decisions about your medical treatment.
- To follow the treating doctor's instructions and other care providers' directions and guidance. If you do not understand any information or instruction you can ask the concerned team.
- Ensure that members of your family or any other authorized person/s are available to hospital personnel for passing information about your treatment.
- You are also expected to treat the hospital staff with respect and consideration.
- Where possible, the hospital will make every effort to meet your needs. If you have any concerns, questions or any complaint, you should speak to one of the staff or the Patient Representative.
Expressing your concern at Aster Hospital
- As a patient of Aster Hospital, you may have some concerns about your hospital stay or service that you would like addressed. If you have a concern or problem about any aspect of your stay or treatment, please tell the staff directly involved with your care.
- Concerns should be addressed in the first instance to the, doctor, nursing manager or health professional of that area.
- You will be able to express any concerns or complaints that you have about your hospital experience without any fear of being disadvantaged.
- If you feel that you would like further assistance, Aster hospital has a Patient Relations Officer who acts as a facilitator to resolve complaints while ensuring that the rights and interests of both you and Aster are protected.
- Aster Quality Management is very keen on complaint resolution and the lessons learned from such experiences are used to improve Aster services. We are always happy to hear from patients and visitors about the service and care we provide. Compliments and complaints help us improve our service and we value your feedback.
